Asked often
Questions partners and readers raise before their first brief — answered in plain language, last reviewed 14 August 2026.
This page uses a two-column grid, not an accordion. Scan both columns. If your question is not here, write to The Mailbox with enough detail for a section editor to reply same desk day.

When does Feed Bloom Vault publish?
We publish between eighteen hundred and twenty-two hundred SGT, Tuesday through Sunday, following the fixed Evening Cut order. Morning and afternoon hours are for research, caption reconciliation, beat clearance, and hold review — not live publishing. Readers who expect morning wire speed will be disappointed by design.
Why are there no contact forms?
Every enquiry routes through [email protected] or +65 6281 7463 so a human reads it before it touches the CORAL SHELF. Automated forms cannot ask follow-up questions about your beat, your sources, embargo needs, or whether your photograph requires consent hold.
What are the eight East Beats?
Katong, Marine Parade, Siglap, Bedok, Tampines, Changi, Geylang, and East Coast corridor summary. Each beat has a shelf slot, a source ledger, and an editor who clears filing before the evening cut. See East Beats for tonight's beat cut list and field rhythm.
What is the hold shelf?
Three hold kinds: legal, source verification, and partner embargo. Nothing publishes from hold without clearance. Hold codes like P-2026-0814 appear on cut lists and in hold note blocks. See Hold Shelf for folder colours and clerk duties.
How do partnerships work?
Scope is agreed in writing before work begins. Partners do not choose headlines or preview copy except under written embargo hold. Editors publish within agreed beats and desk hours. Commercial terms stay in the scope document — not on the editorial page.
Can I visit the Katong floor?
Walk-ins welcome Tue–Sun twelve hundred to nineteen thirty when a shelf editor is free. Later visits need scheduling via The Mailbox. We do not tour the hold shelf during active holds. Read The Katong Floor for layout and standards.
How do I request a correction?
Email [email protected] with the URL, the error, your source, and a callback number. Corrections publish on the same URL with timestamp and summary of change. We strike erroneous text rather than silent deletion. Urgent factual errors during the cut window telephone the desk directly.
Do you accept anonymous tips?
Tips need a return contact for verification. Anonymous allegations without confirmation stay off the shelf. Safety-sensitive anonymity is reviewed with legal counsel and may still require corroboration before publish.
How does caption house treat photographs?
Four passes: ingest, reconcile against street notes, alt text and cut copy, then seventeen fifty-five lock. Frames without beat tags or with stripped EXIF stay off the shelf. See Caption House for rejection criteria.
What are Street Notes?
Short field dispatches written on foot after dusk, tagged by beat, cross-referenced to frame numbers. They feed caption house and the evening cut but are not published verbatim. See Street Notes for notebook issue and intake times.
What cookies does the site use?
Essential cookies for security, optional functional cookies for Google Maps embeds after consent, and optional analytics cookies off by default. Use the cookie banner or Cookies page to manage preferences. Maps load only after functional consent or direct Load map click.
Who handles privacy enquiries?
[email protected] for PDPA access, correction, and consent requests. We respond within thirty days where practicable. See Privacy for retention periods and overseas transfer safeguards.
Do you syndicate to other outlets?
No syndication pool. Partner scope may permit quotation with attribution agreed in writing. Wire copy does not backfill skipped evening cut slots. Independence means our shelf empties on our terms or stays deliberately held.
What language and spelling do you use?
British English throughout — colour, centre, organisation. Datelines in Singapore time. Quotes preserve speaker spelling unless house style requires sic. Caption house deletes promotional adjectives from partner-supplied text.
